Advance care planning supports better decision-making at end of life for patients, their carers and health professionals. Initiating conversations about this topic can be challenging, and there are several key legal concepts that are important to be across.
Cancer Council Victoria and the McCabe Centre for Law and Cancer are hosting this free webinar to support health professionals looking to better understand the implications of advance care planning for their practice. In this webinar, you'll:
• gain practical strategies to assist with starting the discussion about advance care planning with your patients
• learn about the law relating to advance care planning, including the rights and responsibilities of substitute decision-makers, Refusal of Treatment certificates, and the legal status of advance care directives.
You can submit questions and topics you'd like the presenters to cover when you register. You can also participate in an interactive 30 minute Q&A session at the end of the webinar.

A PDF of the slides (including additional material from the Office of the Public Advocate) is available via this link.
