Global Communications & Engagement Manager

Diane Shelton has over 20 years of senior communications experience across corporate, government, professional services and not-for-profit sectors, specialising in high-impact, targeted strategies that advance organisational goals and deliver measurable outcomes. She is based in Melbourne, Australia.

Before joining the McCabe Centre in 2024, Diane worked in senior communications roles with YMCA Australia, World YMCA, BHP, and World Vision Australia (with DFAT and AusAID).

Earlier in her career, she worked with leading global advertising and PR agencies including DMB&B, Saatchi & Saatchi, BBDO, McCann Erickson and Royce Public Relations, with large accounts e.g. Pepsi, Chanel, Proctor & Gamble, and Nissan, building deep foundational expertise in brand, communications, marketing, advertising, PR and stakeholder engagement.

Diane holds a Masters in Organisational Communication from Charles Sturt University and an Organisational Leadership Certificate from Harvard Business School.

Awards/Achievements:

Her work has been recognised through multiple awards, for her contribution to World YMCA’s globally endorsed Vision 2030 Strategic Plan (Vision, Mission & Four Pillars of Impact); World YMCA leadership of Global Communications Team and worldwide Communications Plan; Achievement Award Royce Public Relations; Excellence Award nomination at Cancer Council Victoria in 2025; and finalist for an ATOM Award for World Vision Australia’s Destroy a Minefield campaign video.
